Jerome N. Boose Veteran lumberman and one of the wildest known residents of the western section of Clearfield county, died Tuesday morning at the home of his son Earle G. Boose, in DuBois
He was nearly 87 years of age and was born at Home Camp, Union Township. At the age of 18 he volunteered for service in the Civil War being accepted by Capt. Carlisle’s company F 145th Penna. Volunteer Infantry and was on the way to the front when the surrender of Lee’s army brought the war to a close. He engaged in lumbering from 1868 to 1914 almost continuously in Pennsylvania.
