Andover, NH - Estella A. (Rollins) Durgin, 72, of Plains Road, died Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at Franklin Regional Hospital.
She was born on January 31, 1937. She lived in Andover almost all of her life and worked in the housekeeping department at New London Hospital for over 30 years retiring in 1992. Estella liked to cook and was especially happy when spending time and playing cards with her grandchildren. She was a wonderful wife and family meant everything to her. Her grandson, Zach, has fond memories and writes, "Estella Durgin was a great grandmother to me. She did the best she could to help me out when she could. She will be missed by many."
Members of her family surviving include her husband of 49 years, Wilfred J. Durgin, Sr. of Andover, NH; a daughter, Diana L. Miller of Andover, NH; a son, Wilfred J. Durgin, Jr. of Franklin, NH; and four grandchildren, Zachary and Maurice St. Jacques and Brenden and Michael Miller.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 28, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at the Andover Congregational Church, East Andover, NH with The Rev. John Wagner, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery, East Andover, NH.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Andover Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 209, Andover, NH 03216.
