Barbara Nelson passed away on Monday, Aug. 24, 2009, in Sherman.
Barbara was born Oct. 23, 1919 in Otto,Falls Co., Texas, the daughter of Alvin Gus and Ida L. Neinast.
She married J. D. Lake of Denison on Jan. 8, 1938. He preceded her in death July 18, 1971 in Dallas.
She married Thomas A. Nelson, Jan. 15. 1978. He preceded her in death Dec. 15, 1995 in Gunnison, Colo.
Barbara was preceded in death by her brothers, Angus Adolf and James Weldon Neinast.
She is survived by brothers A. G. Neinast Jr and wife Pat of New London, Claud R. Neinast of Waco, Harry L Neinast of Sour Lake; sisters, Hildegarde Ferguson of Waco, and Pat Winter, Sherman, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Barbara was a member of various organizations including Eastern Star and PEO.
She and Tom divided the year in Gunnison Colo., and Lago Vista, enjoying the best of the seasons. Every place was the best where she was, but her life and friends in Gunnison was the most loved.
Barbara was of the Lutheran Faith and her wishes were to be cremated. There are no services planned.
American Funeral Service, 4312 W. Crawford St., Denison, handled the arrangements for Mrs. Nelson.
