Martha was the daughter of M.B. and Sarah Clary. She became a Red Cross Nurse and joined the Army in 1941. It was there that she met her husband, John Charles Stratton. They married on May 25, 1942 in the Panama Canal Zone. With this union came 3 sons: John Hugh, Warren Charles, and Gerald Clary.
