Mrs. Nash was married twice, her first husband being Edward Hichens, a native of England. They were the parents of two daughters; Marietta, the wife of Thomas Young, and Emma Amelia, the wife of William Bower. Mrs. Nash was married second to Thomas Wesley Nash. Mr. and Mrs. Nash became the parents of twelve children. Children were; Thomas Wesley, Grant, Orin L., Lucy Amanda wife of Neil Versteeg, John, George E., Ray A., Myrtle Viola wife of Gordon Warden, Luella V. wife of Clyde LaFollett, Ruth wife of Frank Campbell, Grace Agness wife of E.E. Finley, and Ezra.
Melissa was the daughter of John and Sally Jenette (Nichols) Rogers. Her parents are buried in Noble Cemetery in Newberg, Oregon.
