Mrs. Mary E. Cutting, 85, of 30A Main St., who wrote her autobiography published under the title "Robbed of My Childhood" when she was 83 years old, died June 17, 1970 at her home.

She was born in Croydon on the Goodhue farm near Corbin park, home of her grandparents, on Sept. 20, 1884. She was the daughter of Curtis E. and Emma (Johnson) Goodhue. When she was 13 years old she started work in the Lebanon area as a cook and lady chef. She also cooked for Lewis St. Gaudens, the sculptor, who used her arms, hands, chest, feet and legs as models. Her book relates the hardships of her life.

Mrs. Cutting is survived by four of her six children, a son, Curtis E. Brassaw, Gilbertville, Mass., and three daughters, Mrs. Goldena Gonyea, and Mrs. Autumn Brown, both of New London, and Mrs. Maude Truell, Meredith; 12 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. June 20 in the Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home by the Rev. Richard Wallace, pastor of First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.

Bearers will be Douglas Truell, Tony Truell, Andrew Gonyea, Warren Gonyea, Rodney Gonyea, and David Titus.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 to 5 and from 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.
