THE PARIS NEWS, Friday, August 5, 1966, Pg. 4: "Funeral services for R. B. Crews, 79, of 317 George Wright Homes here, were held Wednesday at the United Pentecostal Church, and burial at Detroit made by Grant Funeral Home of Deport. Officiating were the Rev. Jack M. DeHart and Rev. W. T. Dunn, and bearers were Curtis Hubbard, Haskell Darden, Larry Bell, Oran Smith, Joe Henry Adams and Tim Claypool. Mr. Crews, who died Wednesday at home after long illness, was born in Lamar County, Sept. 12, 1886, son of Beverly and Fannie (Melton) Crews. He moved to Paris about 10 years ago from Fulbright community. He leaves his wife, the former Mrs. Lula Dunn, whom he married in 1963: these children; Willie Crews and Mrs. Thelma Cross, Paris; Mrs. Amy Plant, Peoria, Ariz., Joe and Albert Crews, Dallas; Mrs. Fannie Byrd, Fort Worth; Dewey Crews, Alameda, Calif.; Mrs Rachel McPherson, Security, Ariz., and Robert Crews, Jr., Austin. Also a number of other descendants; a sister, Mrs. Hattie Horton, Coleman; a brother, Buster Crews, Paris, and five stepchildren." Transcribed by Debra Usry.
