Nathan was born on December 30, 1939, to Ralph and Texas Ola (Webb) Belcher in Portales and passed away on August 23, 2009, at his home in Rogers. Nathan grew up in Rogers and graduated from Dora High School. Nathan married Norma Ann Hays on September 4, 1960, in Dora. He has always lived in the Rogers area and practiced his love in cattle ranching and raising horses. From 1986 to 1998 Nathan worked as a substitute Mail Carrier and a fulltime Mail Carrier from 1998 to present, while still taken care of his cattle and horses. Nathan was a very honest and truthful person and made sure to teach his children the same. He also taught them the proper way to hunt and horsemanship. He loved to hunt and was a avid arrowhead hunter. While his daughter was in school he was Director of the Little Wranglers. In recent years he was partner with his son in ownership of the Seeping Springs RV Park in Ruidoso Downs and loved attending the horse racing.
Nathan is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Jerry Belcher. He is survived by his wife Norma Belcher of almost 49 years of Rogers, a son, Jimmy Belcher and wife Stacie of Ruidoso Downs, a daughter, Kim Lindsey and husband Matt of Jayton, Texas, four brothers, Harold Belcher of Rogers, Richard Belcher and wife Pansy of Moriarty, Tex Belcher and wife Rosalie of Portales, and Lloyd Belcher and wife Carla of Houston, Texas. Nathan is also survived by a sister, La Doris Good and husband Charles of Elida. Most of all his grandchildren survive him and they are, Zinn Lindsey, Hunter Belcher and Bradly Belcher.
