Constable Biffle
JOHN BIFFLE, age 52, died at his home on Throckmorton St. Friday night after a brief illness of dengue fever. Mr. Biffle was a native of Waynesboro, Tennessee and had been a resident of Gainesville several years, during which he was employed as a carpenter. Mr. Biffle made the race for constable of precinct in July primary on the democratic ticket and, upon the resignation of CHARLES COCHRAN, the former constable, Mr. Biffle was appointed to fill the unexpired term, had been acting in that capacity for two months. He is survived by his wife and three children, all of whom were present at the time of his death. Funeral services will be held from the residence Sunday afternoon with Rev. MINOR BOUNDS of the Whaley Memorial Methodist Church and Rev. E. A. WESSON of the Grand Ave. Baptist Church officiating. Interment in the Fairview cemetery arranged by S. W. Gibson. Active pallbearers: JIM BIFFLE, SAM BIFFLE, HOMER BELL, J. M. BELL, LEROY O'BRIEN and ALLIE FINLEY
