One of our most respected citizens and probably the oldest, passed away early Sunday morning at her residence in the western part of the village. Miss Servernia Reed was born in Briston, Rhode Island in 1816 and was 96 years old. Forty years ago next June she came to Darien where she has since resided. Mrs. Bloss had been married four times, her first husband being Elias Adams from whom she had six children two of whom are living; her second husband being Elija Ware and this union gave them one son Frank, who died some 12 years ago. Her third husband was Charles Phillips whom she married in Colorado, the fourth being Benjamin Bloss who she married at Allen Grove, Wisconsin and who died 23 years ago. Two daughters survive her, Mrs. Ellen (Adams) Blakely of Darien and Mrs. E. C. (Adams) Weaver of Aberdeen, Washington. Her son Charles Adams who formerly lived here died several years ago leaving two children, Mae Adams who has assisted in caring for her grandmother the past winter and Mrs. Walter Goodrich of Lake Geneva who was present at the funeral. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Blakely and she was buried in the Darien Cemetery. Rev. Hooton of Delavan conducted the obsequles and the male quartette of Darien sung.
