Born Sept. 29, 1883, at Glendale, he was a son of Silas an Elizabeth Sophia Harris Brinkerhoff. He married Mary Anderson, daughter of Swain and Elizabeth Emma Carpenter Anderson.
An active worker in both civic and church affairs, he filled a two-year western states mission for the LDS church in 1916 and 1917. He served for five years as counselor in the Glendale ward Sunday School superintendency, and served for four years as superintendent before being released due to ill health. He was ordained a High Priest on June 30, 1940.
A crowd which exceeded the capacity of the church attended final rites conducted Thursday afternoon in the Glendale chapel, followed by interment in the Glendale cemetery.
Surviving besides his widow are four chldren, Mrs. Henry Carroll of Orderville, Laurel, Lue Herrick and Charles Wilbur Brinkerhoff, of Glendale, and six grandchildren. Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters; A.R. Brinkerhoff and Merlin Brinkerhoff of Glendale; Warren Brinkerhoff of Lovell, Wyo; Mrs. Edgar Jones of Vernal, and Mrs. George A. Smith of Cedar City.
