Bombardier aboard B-17G Flying Fortress #42-37784, nicknamed "Old Fox."

While on a mission to Berlin out of Kimbolton, England, collided with B-17 #42-38082 and crashed near Eberswalde, Germany, northeast of Berlin (possibly between Eberswalde and Melchow).


Eight crewmembers were killed. Only the pilot survived.

Failed to Return (FTR) Berlin in B-17 42-37784 24-May-44; enemy aircraft attack caused collision with 42-38082, crashed Malchow, Germany. Killed in Action (KIA). Missing Aircrew Report 5322 Awarded Purple Heart Posthumously.
