Waist Gunner aboard B-17G Flying Fortress #42-37784, nicknamed "Little Barney."
While on a mission to Berlin out of Kimbolton, England, collided with B-17 #42-38082 and crashed near Eberswalde, Germany, northeast of Berlin (possibly between Eberswalde and Melchow).

Eight crewmembers were killed. Only the pilot survived.

Missing Aircrew Report 5322 Awarded Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster and Purple Heart [Posthumously].
