Mrs. Madge Largent, wife of Chas. Largent, well known barber of this city, died Saturday evening at their home on Ferguson avenue near Sixth, following a lingering illness of tuberculosis, funeral services being held yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Baptist church, under the direction of the Rev. D.K. Foster, the Baptist pastor. Interment was in Little Prairie cemetery near the city shortly afterward, with Messrs. J.W. Davis, Rollo Scott, John Hosler, James Entwistle, Edw. Adams and H.P. Thweatt acting as pall bearers. Mrs. Largent, who was a daughter of J.W. Brock, a resident of this city for many years, was yet a young woman, being aged only a little more than 28 years at the time of her death. In her father's family she is survived by the parents, four brothers, Audie, Elbert, Doyle and Robert Brock, and by two sisters, Mrs. Steve Edwards of near Portageville, and Mrs. Chas. Houston of Dongola, Ill. Of her immediate family there are the three survivors, her husband and two children, a baby son and a daughter but a few years older, who will sadly miss her.
Mrs. Largent was a good Christian woman, a lovable character, a tender mother and a true and faithful wife, whose passing the whole community deplores.
In addition to the relatives named a large number of sympathetic friends were in attendance at the last obsequies and a wealth of floral offerings paid silent tribute as evidences of the esteem in which the deceased was held by those who knew and loved her best.
