Coldren, Mildred (Warren) Tempe, AZ
Passed away peacefully at home on August 11, 2009, from Alzheimer's disease, she was age 78.

Midge was born February 5, 1931 in Hazard, KY; daughter of Dealia (Shepherd) and Milton Warren.

She graduated from Wayne State University, 1954, Detroit, MI, and she pursued graduate course work in Education, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She and her husband of 55 years, Arthur Phillip Coldren, lived and raised five daughters in Ann Arbor, MI.

Midge was an elementary school teacher with the Ann Arbor Public Schools. She loved her students and teaching. Phillip was a Metallurgist with the Climax Molybdenum research laboratory.

Midge was an avid gardener, and her beautiful flower gardens were enjoyed by family and friends. For many years, Midge volunteered with adult literacy programs.

In retirement, Midge and Phillip lived in Tempe, AZ. Midge was predeceased by her daughter, Lisa (Liza) Byers of Amarillo, TX in 2004.

She is survived by her husband, Phillip and four daughters and their families, including eight grand children: Julia Tosswill and her husband Edward of Camden, ME, their children Christopher and Lauren; daughter Rebecca Coldren (previously Lankton) of Ann Arbor, MI and her daughter Holly; daughter Sarah Wright and her husband Stephen of Tempe, AZ, and their son William; daughter Elizabeth Coldren of Camden, ME; and the children of Lisa: Mozelle, Henry, Frank and Malcom Byers.

She is also survived by a brother, Frank (Lois) Warren of Lima, OH and a sister, Louise Jones of Kittanning, PA.

Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Ann Arbor. Plans for a memorial service in Ann Arbor will be announced when completed. Midge loved both books and the city of Ann Arbor; in lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Ann Arbor District Library, 343 South Fifth Ave, 48104.
