"Cicero Richardson Harris
Principal, teacher, A.M.E. Zion Bishop. Held the first classes of Zion Wesley Institute at his home in Concord, NC in December 1879. When Zion Wesley Institute, the progenitor of Livingstone College, moved to Salisbury, NC in October of 1882, he was an instructor at the Institute along with his wife Mariah, during the presidency of J.C. Price."

(J.C. Price was the first president of Livingstone College, and is buried on the college campus.)
