"John W Cook, 65, of Centerville, RD 2, died yesterday afternoon. Born Sept 14, 1896, in Sparta Township, he was the son of William and Sarah Boyd Cook. On March 20, 1917, he married Nellie Clark. Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Mrs Rosa Baker of Corry, Mrs Kenneth McWilliams of Waterford and Mrs Robert Greer of Centerville, RD 2; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister, Mrs Eva Golden of Spartansburg; and a brother, William Cook of Spartansburg, RD 1. One son, Robert John (sic) [John Robert], died in 1935. Friends may call...at the H Richard Hays Funeral Home in Spartansburg where the funeral service will be conducted at 2 pm Saturday by Rev William Carter, pastor of the Spartansburg Baptist Church. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Spartansburg."
