Mrs. Sally Beatrice Stacey Watkins, 82, of Morganton, went to be with the Lord Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009, while at Grace Hospital.
Born Sept. 23, 1926, in Grundy, Va., she was a daughter of the late Elihue Boyd Stacey and Dellcenia Hall Stacey.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Watkins was also preceded in death by her husband, John Hardin Watkins, and a sister, Violet Collins.
She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing and crafts.
Mrs. Watkins is survived by two sons, John Wesley "Toby" Watkins and wife, Shelia Kay Watkins, of Morganton and Terry Lee Watkins of Fernwood, Idaho; a niece, Patricia Watkins Jenson of Salt Lake City, Utah; a brother, Richard Stacey and wife, Elizabeth of Bristol, Tenn.; two sisters, Rena Pupanek of Bristol, Va. and Velda Croft of Newark, Ohio; four grandchildren, Lane Watkins, John Matthew Watkins, Sally Watkins and Jennifer Watkins Rogers; and three great-grandchildren.
Interment will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
