Service Today for Earl Peak at St. Mark's
Funeral services for Earl Estel Peak will be conducted at St. Mark's Episcopal church this morning at 10 o'clock.
Peak died Monday morning at Adams County Memorial hospital. He suffered from lung and throat cancer and had undergone major surgery in April.
He was born Feb. 12, 1926, at Indianapolis, Ind. He attended grade school and graduated from high school at Jasper, Ind. He enlised in the navy on Sept. 2, 1943, and was discharged at San Diego, Calif., Feg. 14, 1947.
On Oct. 30, 1948, he was married to Bonita Carlson of Kennewick, at Newport.
He was employed at Kennewick when he was wed. He later attended business college in Portland, Ore., and was employed at Corvallis, Ore., and in 1955 went to work for Blackledge Furniture in Corvallis.
The family moved to Ritzville in 1961 whee they have lived on
Griffith road for the past year. He had been employed as truck driver by Snider Trucking company, in Ritzville.
Earl Peak is survived by his widow, his mother, Mrs. Vic Remke of Huntingford, Ind., and by five children, Susan Ruth, Sally Jane, Stacey Lynn, Douglas Earl and Darrel James.
Also surviving are three sisters and a brother, Mrs. Helen Abel, Jeffersonville, Ind.; Mrs. Betty Brown, Jasper, Ind.; Mrs. Mildred Sands, New Albany, Ind.; and Frank Peak, Greenwood, Ind.
The Rev. Paul Dixon of St. Martin's Episcopal church, Moses Lake, will conduct the funeral. C. J. Newland post of the American Legion will conduct military rites at the graveside in Ritzville Memorial cemetery.
