Euclid DuVal Armstrong was the son of Rose and Henry W. Armstrong.

He married at St. Pauls Church, New Bern, Craven Co., North Carolina, May 22, 1936, Annie Pace McSorley, daughter of Annie Lee and Charles J. McSorley.

Obituary:

Mr. Euclid DuVal Armstrong, Sr., 92, passed away Thursday morning, May 18, 2006 at Craven Regional Medical Center. A native of New Bern, he was born April 4, 1914 to the late Henry and Rosa Morris Armstrong.

Euclid is survived by two sons, SMSGT William Charles Armstrong, USAF, Ret., of Roswell, N.M., and Michael Anthony Armstrong of New Bern, N.C.; four daughters, Anne Pace Scheimberg of New York, N.Y., Rosa Lee Davidson and husband Dr. Alan Davidson, III of Greensboro, N.C., Mary Catherine Modlin and husband Col. Edwin Modlin, USAF Ret., of Jamesville, N.C., and Nancy Imelda Spaulding and husband James Spaulding, Esquire, of Skaneatles, N.Y.; sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Armstrong Midyette, of New Bern, N.C.; 20 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 69 years, Annie Pace McSorley Armstrong in April 2005, and a son, Euclid "Uke" DuVal Armstrong, Jr. Additionally, he was preceded in death by brothers, John, Robert Lee, and Henry Armstrong; and sisters, Reba Merritt and Nellie Chadwick.

Euclid was a lifelong resident of New Bern. He was proud of his Scottish Heritage, was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, and retired from the U.S. Postal Service as Superintendent of Mails after 30 years of faithful service.

Funeral Mass was held Monday, May 22, 2006 at St. Paul Catholic Church with Father Paul Mizener as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery.
