DIED AT MILWAUKEE WHILE VISITING WITH HER SON
Mrs. Herman C. Timm a Resident of New Holstein for Over Fifty Years Passed Away While Enroute South

A feeling of unusual sorrow pervaded the entire community of New Holstein on Thursday of last week, when a message was received from Milwaukee, announcing the death of Mrs. Herman O Timm, one of the earliest inhabitants and most respected citizens of New Holstein. Mrs. Timm had been in failing health for some time being a sufferer from bronchitis. With the hope of obtaining relief from the malady she had decided on a trip to Texas and New Mexico, thinking that the surroundings and warmer climate would be beneficial. While enroute south she stopped at Milwaukee to visit her son, Dr. Edmund H. Himm, and while there she was taken worse, failing rapidly until death came on the morning of November 8th.
Augusta Muenster was born June 22, 1845, at Marne, Province of Holstein, Germany. In 1851 she came to America with her parents and settled in the town of New Holstein, In 1864 she was married to Herman C. Timm and they lived happily together sharing each others joys and sorrows until the death of Mr. Timm on the 27th day of June last. From the time of their marriage until 1872 she resided with her husband on a farm near the village. Mr. Timm then embarked in the grain business and they moved to the village. Her husband was one of the influential citizens of the town and his success was in a measure due to the advice and council of this good woman, who took an active interest in his affairs. She was a devoted helpmate and mother and her whole life was unselfishly given to her husband and children, whose welfare was paramount to all thoughts of self. She was an obliging neighbor, sympathetic and kind in trouble, and in fact, an excellent woman in every situation of life. In the community in which she spent so many years she was loved and respected by young and old and her sudden, untimely death is deeply deplored.
She is survived by two sons, Dr. E H Timm of Milwaukee, H. C. Timm Jr., and five daughters, Mrs. Geo H. Schroeder, Mrs. Geo. Leverenz, Misses Emma, Amelia and Agatha Timm, of New Holstein.
The remains were brought to New Holstein for interment and laid at rest in the family lot on Sunday afternoon last. A large number of relatives and friend were present to pay tribute to a good woman. Mr. C. Oeser of Milwaukee delivered the funeral address and spoke in high terms of praise of the life just closed.
