Birney Ferguson
Funeral for Birney Ferguson, 96, Lawton, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Assembly of God with the Rev. Don Barnes, pastor, and the Rev. Gary Pratt, associate pastor, officiating.

Mr. Ferguson died Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009, in a Lawton hospital.

Burial will be in Cache Cemetery under direction of Becker Funeral Home.

He was born Dec. 7, 1912, in Cache, to B. F. and Margaret E. (Hacroft) Ferguson. He married Bonita L. Good on May 24, 1940, in Lawton. She died Sep. 7, 1983. He married Ossie B. Jones on Feb. 19, 1984, in Lawton. He was a retired carpenter and had been a missionary to the Navajo Indians. He was a member of First Assembly of God and a previous member of Northside Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; five children and their spouses: Ronald G. and Diane Ferguson, Tulsa; B. John and Eugenia Ferguson, Lawton; Lois and Vic St. Clair, Tulsa; David L. Ferguson, Norman; and Becky and Arthur Bolduc, Sherman, Texas; a daughter-in-law, Joan Ferguson, Lawton; 17 grandchildren; 24 four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Ferguson; and 11 brothers and sisters.
