MRS. D. L. CLAY DEAD
"Mrs. Feriba Clay, wife of D. L. Clay, 207 West Seventh Street, died at 8:45 o'clock this morning following an eight month's illness. Mr. and Mrs. Clay had lived in the Cherryvale vicinity for the past forty-two years.
She was born April 11, 1858, in Barry County, Missouri, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Fly.
Besides her husband, the deceased is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Bert Russell, Cherryvale, Mrs. Ula Benton, of the home address, Mrs. Alfred Hugo, Bartlesville, OK; three sons, O. B. Clay, Lee's Summit, MO; Will Clay, Cherryvale and Lon Clay, Cherryvale. One son, Walter, died several years ago at Camp Funston; four brothers, Albert and Elbert, Whitefish, MT; William and Each Fly, Watsonville, California; two sisters, Mrs. Florence Wilson and Mrs. Lora Ducey of Craig, CO; and 24 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren also survive.
Mrs. Clay joined the Methodist church about thirty years ago and was an active member until she took ill in the spring.
Funeral services will be from the First Methodist church Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in charge of the Rev. Guy V. Hartman, church pastor, assisted by Rev. Benjamin Lehman, pastor of the local Nazarene Church."

"Funeral services for Mrs. Feriba Clay, wife of D. L. Clay, who died Thursday morning were held Sunday afternoon from the First Methodist Church in charge of the church pastor, Rev. Guy V. Hartman, assisted by Rev. Benjamin Lehman, local Nazarene pastor.
Pall bearers were Carl Russell, Lewis Benton, Clifford Clay, Lester Hugo, Ben Clay and Jack Clay, all grandsons of the deceased.
Floral decorations were in charge of six granddaughters: Thelma Clay, Hazel Russell, Opal Clay, Ruth Clay, Flossie Clay and Margaret Clay.
A quartette composed of Mrs. G. S. Landrith, Miss Grace Markley, Van Fiser and Ed Stribling sang "Asleep in Jesus" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere." Rev. and Mrs. Benjamin Lehman sang "Will the Circle Be Unbroken in the Sky."
Funeral services were in charge of the Logan Understaking Company."
