He was the son of Nicholas Ned Sr. and Jane Ellen (McPheron) Hardin, who survive in Waynesfield.
Also surviving are a maternal grandmother, Ruth McPheron, Wapakoneta; a brother, Chuck (April) McKercher, Waynesfield; three sisters, Candace (Keith) Simpson, Beaverdam, Chelsea Hardin, Troy, and Kelly (Kevin) Webb, Wapakoneta; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was a big Notre Dame fan.
