Andrew Lamb. The death of Andrew Lamb, which occurred last Friday, October 20, at the advanced age of 94 years, removes one of Island Pond's oldest citizens.
He was born in Ireland but was brought to Canada in his infancy and there he made his home until about 30 years ago, at which time he came to Island Pond.
During the first few years of his residence here he had employment with the railroad in the motive power department but finding work too severe for his advanced age worked for Nicholas Warner for several years.
About nine years ago, when the railroad built the new roundhouse here he moved from his old home to a house on Pharring [unable to read], where he lived, in [unable to read] health until almost a year ago, at which time they moved to a home on Hack street.
Mr. Lamb survived by his wife, Susan, to whom, at the time of his death, he had been married 62 years; has four children, three daughters and one son, namely, Mrs. Myra Davis, of Manchester, NH; Mrs. Theresa Stilling of Meadows, NH; Frank Lamb of Denver, CO and Mrs. Fred Stokes of Island Pond. All of his children, except the son, were present at the funeral services which were held from the Church of St. James the Greater last Sunday.
