Of Newport, WA formerly of Metaline Falls, WA entered into rest on July 3, 2007. One of nine children, she was born on the Bower farm near Avon, ID on March 23, 1919 to Jennie and William Bower. She graduated from Deary, ID High School, and soon after married Clarence (Richard) Colegrove. Together they had four children. Richard was killed in a logging accident July 7, 1943. Mayme later married William (Ernest) McGee and they moved to the Metaline, WA area in 1945, they had one son. Mayme enjoyed raising a large garden, canning and baking. Her home was always a haven for the neighborhood children where many gathered for her great meals and wonderful pastries. She was dedicated to her husband and children. Ernie died March 18, 1998. Mayme was a member of the Metaline Falls United Church of Christ and Women's Fellowship and the American Legion Post #144 Auxiliary. She spent her later years at the Newport River Mountain Village and Newport Extended Care. Mayme is survived by her children, Donald Colegrove of Spokane, WA, Gerald (Jerry) Colegrove of Metaline, WA, Joyce Evans of Metaline, WA. Janet (and Merritt) Rice of Metaline Falls, WA, and William (and Mary Kay) McGee of Ferndale, WA. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and one brother James Bower of Orofino, Idaho.
