James F. Argus , 67, of Sylvan Beach, formerly of East Syracuse, died Thursday at Oneida City Hospital.
A native of Syracuse, Mr. Argus resided most of his life in East Syracuse before moving to Sylvan Beach two years ago. He retired as a plater from General Super Plating Co., East Syracuse. Mr. Argus was a 1940 graduate of East Syracuse High School.
Mr. Argus was a volunteer driver with the Meals on Wheels program. He served with the 14th Armored Division in Europe during World War II.
Surviving are his wife, the former Leda Parent; four sons, Richard of Hawaii and Larry, David and Scott, all of Syracuse; two sisters, Winifred Arielo and Ann Karlson, both of Syracuse; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 9 a.m. Monday at Delaney & Greabell Funeral Home, East Syracuse. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Minoa.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 241 Kinne St.
