Ben E. DAULTON, 78, Rt. 7, Lake Manitou, died at 4:05 a.m. today at Woodlawn Hospital.

He was born Feb. 12, 1912 in Rochester to Charles and Lucy SHAFFER DAULTON. He was a lifetime resident of Rochester. On April 30, 1931 he married Edna F. NICHOLS, who died Dec. 29, 1969. On Sept. 19, 1970 in Rochester he married Noelle MUSSELMAN, who survives. He was the retired owner of the Ben Daulton Distributing Company, Rochester, and the Rochester City Dray. He was a veteran of World War II, and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Chamber of Commerce, Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge, VFW, American Legion and the Eagles Lodge, all of Rochester.

Surviving with his wife are two sons, Phillip and David [DAULTON], Rochester; six grandchildren, David DAULTON Jr., Carey DAULTON and Ben DAULTON, Rochester; Tab DAULTON, Cincinnati, Ohio; C'Dale GRUEY, Guernville, Calif., and Amy DAULTON, Plymouth; four great-grandchildren, Benjamin P. GRUEY and Sarah GRUEY, Guernville, Calif., and Krystle Lee DAULTON, and Krystopher David DAULTON, Rochester; a brother, Wayne [DAULTON], Rochester, and two sisters, Barbara SWAINE, Mishawaka, and Velma VIGUS, Torrence, Calif. Preceding in death were two great-grandchildren and three brothers, Joe, Dale (known as "Dirty") and Glen [DAULTON].

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Zimmerman Brothers Funeral Home, Rochester, with Father Frank KILCLINE officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Athens. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Saturday and after 9 a.m. Sunday. The VFW and American Legion will conduct graveside military rites. Memorials may be made to the Heart Fund or charity.
