Arthur Ramey McInturff Jr., 77, of Raleigh, N.C., died Friday, Aug. 21, 2009 at Carolinas Medical Center, Concord, NC. Arthur was born Jan. 21, 1932 in Bluefield, W.Va., to Arthur Ramey and Hazel Woodyard McInturff. He was a graduate of Concord University in Athens , W.Va. and the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Fla. Arthur was a gifted musician and directed the music program at St. Philip Lutheran Church, Raleigh. He was a regional sales manager for the Pillsbury Company where he retired after over 30 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margaret M. McInturff; daughters, Cheri Strickland and husband, Kirby of Harrisburg, N.C.; Leslie Shuff and husband, Doug of Concord; son, Arthur Ramey McInturff III and wife, Rebecca of Matthews; four grandchildren, Patrick; Joseph and Mary Faith Strickland; and Tiffany Morris; and one great-grandchild, Desiree Hall. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24, 2009 at St. Philip Lutheran Church, 7304 Falls of Neuse Road, Raleigh, N.C. 27615. The family will receive friends 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday at the church. Interment will follow the service at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009 at Monte Vista Park Cemetery in Bluefield, W.Va. Memorials may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation or St. Philip Lutheran Church. Arrangements by Brown-Wynne, Millbrook Road.
