Maj. Moses Hunt's served in the Revolutionary War under Maj. Dobb's battalion in the GA Militia. He received draws in the 1827 Georgia Land Lottery based on this military service. He was the son of James (Rev. War Sol.) and Mary (Rackley) Hunt, Sr.

Moses Hunt married Tamar Tyner. Their children were:
