John was the son of Lt. John Frazer of Scotland who fought for the U.S. in the revolution and was killed at the battle of Port Royal. His mother, Martha Milligam was the daughter of William Milligan of Charleston. John served as an inspector of customs, and was a house carpenter. John and Rebecca lived at 26 Trott St. in Charleston. 1808, John admitted to the corps of the Ancient Artillery Society. John was a founder of the 2nd Presbyterian Church in Charleston. John started a boat building business on Daniel's warf.
