He attended Duke University, George Washington University and National University. He practiced law in Troup TX, but returned to Falls Church VA because of Ill health. For the last several years he had been connected with land acquisition by the Federal Govt. in the vicinity of Washington. Survivors include his widow, Margaret Fultz Cannon; daughter of Mrs. Vivian Trader of Westmoreland County VA, a daughter, Shirley Cannon, 11; one son John Cannon; three brothers, Dr. James Cannon III of Duke University, R. M. Cannon of California, and Edward L. Cannon of Raleigh; and two sisters, Mrs. B. D. Stephens of San Diego, CA and Mrs. H. C. Stockholm of Birmingham AL.
