LARSON - Corey Alan Nichols, 47, Larson, previously of the Mandan-Bismarck area, died Aug. 19, 2009, in his home. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, at Bismarck Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Barsness officiating. Burial will be held at 3 p.m. in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the start of the service at the funeral home.

Corey was born Nov. 23, 1961, to Alfred and Ilene (Hanson) Nichols. Corey attended school in Minot, Bismarck and Mandan. He was married to Virginia Anne Nichols.

He was a member of the National Guard for many years, as well as the Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, threshing bee events and all his life experiences with his family, friends and, most importantly, his children.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia; his stepmother, Imelda Nichols, Columbus; his siblings, Todd Nichols, Wyoming, Brett Nichols, Texas, and Alicia Nichols, Fargo; his stepsister, Mae Ong Geller; his children, Matthew Botz, Wyoming, Reuben Burnley, Bismarck, Victor Whaley, Washington, D.C., and Corey Burnley, Washington; his stepchildren, Angie Crabbs, Pennsylvania, Derrik Riebling, Minot, Cristyl Riebling, Miami, and Amanda Riebling-Bernal, Arizona; his grandchildren, Nadir Denrik Harris, Pennsylvania, and Jazmine Delgotto, Arizona; his uncles, Vernan Nichols, Roger Nichols, Henry Hanson and Robert Hanson; and his aunts, Margaret Dixon, Helen Pettit and Ethel Hanson Estenson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Victor Nichols; his mother, Ilene Hanson Nichols; his brother, Kevin Nichols; and his uncle, Herbert Hanson.
