Conrad Numerich committed suicide last Sunday afternoon according to reports which have reached the coroner's office. Mr. Numerich, for several years, lived on his homestead 30 miles north of this city, and was found unconscious on the Ross Road about five miles from his home and a half mile from the Frank Amspoker place Sunday about 5 o'clock by a sheep herder. He was brought to the Douglas hospital for treatment and died yesterday morning (July 24, 1922). Numerich leaves a wife and four children, several of which are grown. The children are Fred, Henry, Miss Amelia Numerich and Mrs. William Hildebrand, all of this city. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. Louis Kurtz of this city; and his father and mother who reside in Springfield, Illinois. The father had been a guest here for the past few weeks but left for Illinois last Thursday evening. Mr. Numerich came to Douglas from Springfield about five years ago, since which time he has lived on his homestead. According to mortuary records, he was born in Germany on Sept. 6, 1877. (Information was obtained from his obituary in the Douglas Enterprise July 25, 1922 and mortuary records by Betty Alberts, FAG Member #47293729.)
