Private Purnal Truitt was a member of the Delaware Continental Regiment, Patton's Company, during the Revoluntionary War.
This plaque is actually a mistake.
Purnal Truitt died in 1841 in Wilkes County, Georgia. He was missing in action in Camden at the time of the battle because he had been transferred to a unit of fifes and drummers. This is in his DAR record.
