Armando Acuña, 54, of Baytown, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2009 in Houston. He was born March 20, 1955 in Corpus Christi to his parents, Henry Acuña and Elva Peña Acuña.

Armando was a longtime resident of Baytown, an avid hunter and muscle car enthusiast and he loved motorcycles. He had the ability to plan ahead into the future for himself and his family, able to build things in his mind for future development. Armando was an operator that had planned to retire from Exxon at the end of March 2010.

His love for his family was evident by his adoration as a loving husband, son, father, brother and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Acuña of Baytown; mother, Elva Acuña of Corpus Christi; sons, Thomas Acuña and his wife Melissa, Robert Acuña and Andrew Acuña all of Baytown; brother, Arthur Acuña and his wife Heather of Corpus Christi; sisters, Sylvia Rice and her husband Alan of Corpus Christi, Laura Sweet of League City and Canny Chappell and her husband Larry of St. Croix, Virgin Islands; grandchild, Cavan Acuña of Baytown and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 24, 2009 at Navarre Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, August 23, 2009 at the funeral home.
