Obituary:
Hyrum, UT - Bonnie Seamons Allen passed away at her home on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at the age of 95 from complications due to age. She was born on December 14, 1913 to Henry Hurren Seamons and Maria Ann Bennett in Hyde Park, Utah. She was the seventh child in a family of eleven children. There were plenty of hardships and plenty of work to go around. The family operated a small farm and had animals to sustain life. Every day, Sunday and Holidays included, eight loaves of bread were made and baked. Their family was one of the first in Hyde Park to have electric lights in their home. In 1933, she began dating and eventually married Preston Clyde Allen. They were married in the Logan Temple April 19, 1935. Their married life was spent running a farm in Hyrum. Preston passed away on August 13, 1981. She is survived by her five children, Sidnee (DelRoy) Mitton of Oakley, Idaho; Shana (Milton) Anderson of Millville; Cordell ABuz@ (Jan) Allen of Woods Cross, Utah; Gayla (Craig) Brown of Hyrum, and Thad (Kathy) Allen of South Jordan, Utah and one brother, Weldon (Wyonne) Seamons of Emmett, Idaho. She was always proud of her family, including her thirty grandchildren and ninety great-grandchildren. She was an excellent homemaker and a wonderful cook. Her famous potato salad and hot rolls were always a requested favorite at family gatherings. Quilting and crocheting were her life-long talents and her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren have been grateful recipients of her lovely talents. As a member of the LDS Church, she served in Primary, Relief Society and YW organizations over the years. She worked at the Logan Temple for several years. For 26 2 years she worked at Tri-Miller Packing Company as secretary and office manager before retiring at age 72. The family gives a special thanks to the Primrose Home Health Agency for their loving care during the final days of her life. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to the church wide missionary fund. Funeral service will be held at 12 noon at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center St in Logan, on Monday, March 23. There will be a viewing on Sunday, evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and on Monday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 am prior to the services. Internment will be in the Hyrum City cemetery following the service. Condolences and thoughts may be expressed to the family online at www.allenmortuaries.net.
