WILLIAM C. HECKMAN
William C. Heckman of Saxton, formerly of Huntingdon, passed away at 8 o'clock Sunday morning, Oct., 4, 1964, at the Clyde Leffard residence in Huntingdon. He had been failing health for several years.
He was born on November 25, 1887, in Wells Tannery, the son of William C. and Mary E. (Fessler) Heckman. On July 3, 1923, he was united in marriage with Clara V. Hixon at Breezwood. She passed away on January 19, 1960.
His survivors include a daughter, Mrs. James (Mary) Benner of Saxton and a son, Lt. Donald C. Heckman of the u. S. Navy in Japan. Also surviving are five grandchildren and a brother and sister; Fred Heckman of Wells Tannery and Mrs. John Kline of Manheim.
The deceased wasa a member of the Pine Grove Methodist Church at Wells Valley.
A veteran of World War I, Mr. Heckman was wounded during the Battle of the Argonne. For a number o years he workd for the Grange Trust Co., in Huntingdon. In 1953 he retired from the Owens-Corning Fiberglass Corp.
The funeral services will be Tuesday afternoon at 5, at the Masood funeral home in Saxton. The Rev Charles Hess will officate and interment at the Pine Grove Methodist Cemetery at Wells Valley.
