Solomon was a Sgt. in the Union Army. He served from 1862-1864 at Camp Cleveland, Co. A, 34th OH Infantry Regiment of Zouaves and in Co. A, 169th Oh Infantry Regiment.

He was the owner of valuable coal mines in Kansas.

DEATH ON BENCH--Solomon King died yesterday at 9 o'clock at his residence six miles ester of town on the bench. He had reached the age of 74 years. The funeral will take place today at 2 o'clock from the residence. Interment will be in the Meridian cemetery.
