John married Lucinda M. Parton in Lancaster, Schuyler County, Missouri 13 Jan 1848 and had many children: Zachary Taylor (11 Feb 1849-13 Oct 1928); John William (1850-1939); James O. (Jan 1857-?); Samuel Eli (Nov 1863-1933); Sanora (spelling ?) (ca 1859); Noah (ca 1860-?); Mary Ellen (ca 1862-?); Missouri Price (Johnson) Chapham (10 Aug 1863-30 Apr 1947); Lucinda D. (ca 1864-?); Jefferson Jackson (1866-1939); Sylvester (1869-1939); and Charles Martin (6 Jun 1875-1947). John M. died 31 Mar 1891 in Ravanna.
