On 8 Feb 1776, Elnathan married Margaret Elliot, daughter of Ebenezer Elliott, who was also a Revolutionary War veteran.
Margaret was born 30 June 1753, in Cambridge, Middlesex Co., Mass. Elnathan & Margaret had five children: Joseph, Hannah, Samuel, Nathan and Margaret Jacobs.
She died 6 Jan 1785, in Royalston, Worcester Co., Mass., shortly after the birth of their last child. She is buried in Royalston, possibly in the Cemetery "Under the Hill" on Jacobs Hill, Royalston.
After Margaret's death, Elnathan married (2) Rachel Waistcoat/Westcott They had 10 children:
Asa, David (d.y.), Amy, David, Elias, Hosea, Amos, Royal, Lovisa/Levisa, Royal Jacobs.
In 1808, Lot #40, on East Mountain, Guilford, Vt. was deeded to Elnathan by Stephen Jacobs. In 1810, Elnathan deeded this lot to Abel Jacobs. (The quartz rocks on the north slope, south of the old homesite, are still known as "Abel's Ledges")
Elnathan died in Guilford, Windham Co.,Vt.,13 Feb 1813, in the 63rd year of his age. He was buried in Blanchard Cemetery, next to his daughter, Lovisa Jacobs. (It was up an overgrown hill (1983) The slate stone has Elnathan's name. Lovisa's name is on the same stone. This monument will soon be illegible. (There was no veteran marker or flag on the grave in 1983, when we visited it.)
