Dale L. Husted, 60, of Camden Township died Friday at St. Joseph's Hospice Center in Lorain after a long illness.
Born in Wakeman, he lived in Henrietta and Camden Townships throughout his life.
He attended Henrietta High School and worked for the Ohio Department of Transportation for 30 years at its Oberlin garage and retired in 1983. After retiring, he worked for Harold Hough Trucking in Brighton Township.
He served in the Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Husted attended Kipton Congregational Church and belonged to Gibson Masonic Lodge No. 301 F&AM in Wakeman.
Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Karen (nee Clark); his mother, Edna (nee Snyder) Husted in Camden Township; sisters Elaine Husted of Henrietta Township and Corrine Gray of Coquille, Ore.; a brother, Thomas Husted of Vermilion; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lester Husted, in 1967, and a brother, Lenard Husted.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Gerber-Smith Funeral Home, 16 Cooper St., Wakeman. The Rev. Allen Patterson, pastor of the Peace Mennonite Church of Elyria, will officiate. Private burial will be at a later date in Camden Cemetery in Kipton.
