Elsie Nolte, 13th child of August and Amelia Nolte was born in Bremer County, Iowa, Nov 8, 1894. She attended the Laird school in Warren Township. Later she worked at a serving factory located at the corner of East Bremer Ave and 3rd St NE, Waverly, Iowa.
She married Edward Lageschulte March 5, 1919, who had just finished World War I Army service. They lived on a farm one mile south and half mile West of Bremer, Iowa. They lived here until 1952 when ill health forced Ed to retire. They built a home in Waverly at 115 3rd Ave SE but Ed didn't get to live there. He died at the Veteran Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa on May 16, 1953.
Elsie lived in this home in Waverly, helped take care of her four grandchildren and baby sat for many prominent people in Waverly. Later she moved into a neighboring home with her sister Ruth Note.
Her brother, Henry Nolte, and wife, Viola, then occupied Elsie home. Elsie moved to the Bartels Nursing Home in Waverly in Dec 1977. She died March 9, 1978.
Elsie & Edward Lageschulte were blessed with two daughters, Leona Ruth and Wanda Mae. Leona died January 8, 1936 of a ruptured appendix.

Mrs Elsie K Lageschulte, 83, died Thursday morning, Mar 9, at the Bartels Lutheran Home in Waverly
Elsie K Nolte was born on November 8, 1894 in Warren Township, Bremer County, the daughter of August and Amelie Witte Nolte. She was united in marriage to Edward Lageschulte in Warren township Edward died in 1953 and later that year Elsie moved into Waverly.
She became a resident of the Bartels Lutheran Home on December 2, 1977. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Waverly
Surviving are her daughter, Wanda, Mrs Donald Lesinger of Waverly: two brothers, Will Nolte and Frank Nolte, both of Waverly: one sister, Miss Ruth Nolte of Waverly, four grandsons and two greatgrandchildren, She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Leona, five brothers and six sisters
Funeral services were held Saturday, Mar 11, 11:00 a m at the Faith United Methodist Church in Waverly with Rev Walter J Bernard officiating. Burial was in Harlington Cemetery, Waverly
