Died 4:25 a.m. Saturday, April 8, 1989, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 76, a native of St. Amant and resident of Baton Rouge. He was retired from Exxon Company USA. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 44450 Louisiana Hwy. No. 429, St. Amant, at 10 a.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Thomas C. Ranzino. Entombment in church mausoleum.

Survived by a daughter, Judith B. Petrie, Baton Rouge; two sons, Byron J. Bourgeois Jr., Atlanta, Ga., and Michael D. Bourgeois, Metairie; a sister, Mrs. Ruth Blanchard, Gonzales; and eight grandchildren, Erin, Kristin and Scott Petrie, all of Baton Rouge, Robert, Michael and Ashley Bourgeois, all of Atlanta, Ga., Brian and Karen Bourgeois, both of Metairie.

Preceded in death by wife, Jessie Brinkley Bourgeois; parents; sisters; and brothers.

He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church and Exxon Annuitant Club. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Catholic High School Development Fund, 855 Hearthstone Drive, 70808, or St. Joseph Academy Education Fund, 3015 Broussard St., 70808.
