Mr. Cupp was one of the kindest persons we ever knew. It is literally true that he was a friend to everybody with whom he was acquainted. After entering the ministry he was pastor on the Corning circuit of the Evangelical Church with housed of worship at Mt. Etna and Mt. Eton. During the years of his ministry he united in marriage over 800 couples. The first wedding he ever performed was that of James a
Allison and wife of Mt. Etna. There are people living in this community at whose wedding Mr. Cupp officiated and later he performed a like ceremony for their children. His last wedding ceremony was about three weeks ago at the nuptials of William H. Miller and Mrs. Violet Johannes both of this county. The popularity of Mr. Cupp was truly wonderful. He always had a kind word and a pleasant smile for every acquaintance and his winning personality endeared him to all. The fond wife and children with one brother, Jonas P. Cupp of our city, survive Rev. Mr. Cupp and have the sincere sympathy of all in their loss. Practically all the people of this community join them in their sorrow.
