ACKERMAN – Robert W. Jr., 41, of Seward, formerly of Unity Township, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009, at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born May 9, 1968, in Mount Pleasant, son of Edna Mae (Musgrove) Ackerman of Unity Township and the late Robert W. Ackerman Sr. He was employed as a tool supervisor at Carclo Technical Classics, Latrobe. Robert was a member of the NRA, Youngwood, and was a former fireman for Kecksburg and Youngs town volunteer fire departments. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his fiancee, Brandy Melissa Wagner of Seward; daughter, Ciara Rose Ackerman; two stepchildren, Amber Wagner and Tyler Conrad, all at home. He also is survived by three sisters, Grace (Ed) Smith and family, Lycippus; Debbie (Greg) Vidakovich and family, Latrobe; and Mary Ruth (Stephen) Lingenfield and family, Latrobe; nephews and nieces; and two great-nieces. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Jay A. Hoffer Funeral Home, Norvelt, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, the Rev. Dr. Dale L. Porterfield officiating. Interment to follow at Green Ridge Memorial Park, Connellsville.
