The funeral of Charles Rand, 83 years old, a Colorado pioneer who died Sunday, will be held from the parlors of the Denver Undertaking and Vault company Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be at the Crown Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Rand came to Colorado in 1861 and took a homestead two and one-half miles northwest of Arvada. He lived on his ranch until 10 years ago, when he moved to Denver. His home was at 1823 West Fortieth avenue.

He was born in Nova Scotia moving with his parents to Illinois when he was a child. He is survived by the wido, a daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Hattie) Doyle of Iowa and these children who reside in Denver: Mrs. John O. (Rachel) Sherwin, Miss Annie Rand, Mrs. W.G. (Rosa Bella) Lord, Mrs. H.E. (Flora) Sater, Charles Rand, Jr., George E. Rand and Roy Rand.
First wife: Mary A. or Eliza Forsythe married abt 1870 in Canada. Mary passed away about 1882 in Arvada, Jefferson, Colorado, United States.
Second wife: Emma Jane Skinner married June 4, 1885.
