Lifelong Clatskanie resident Charles Trotter, died July 20, 1983 in a Longview nursing home. He was 78. He was born at Clatskanie Aug 19, 1904, and was a self-employed logger for 50 years. Trotter and his wife, the former Wilma Frame, were married Sept. 7, 1935, at Kelso. She survives him at Rainier. Also surviving are four sons, Larry Trotter of Rainier, Carl Trotter of Clatskanie, William Trotter of Silverton, and Bert Trotter of Idaho; two sisters, Mary Glenn of Rainier, and Cordelia Burt of Williamina, Ore.; 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services and interment will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Green Mountain Cemetery, Rainier, with Pastor Thomas Valencia officiating. Haakinson-Grouix, Family, Mortuary, Clatskanie, is in charge of arrangements.
