Hoyt Ulmer Bookhardt, 72, retired farmer of the Four Holes Community, died at his residence at 11:55 p.m. Monday after declin lng health for several months. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the White House Methodist Church with the Rev. H. M. Fuller and the Rev, Don Culberson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, directed by Thompson Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be Wayne Bookhardt, Cecil Bookhardt, Herman Felkel, Robert Wertz Jr., John Wertz and Herman Bookhardt Jr. Mr. Bookhardt was a member of the White House Methodist Church, the Elks, the V.F.W., the Forty and Eight, and a veteran of World War I. He was the son of the late John William and Izora Ulmer Bookhardt of Elloree.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mary Goodwin Bookhardt of Orangeburg; three daughters, Mrs. G. H. Aull Jr. of Durham, N.C., Mary Grace Bookhardt, New York. N.Y., and Mrs. J. R. Boggan, Great Neck, N.Y.; two sons, Hoyt U. Bookhardt Jr. of Anderson; Francis U. Bookhardt of Orangeburg; two half-sisters, Mrs. Robert Wertz of Springfield and Mrs. Herman Felkel of Elloree. Also surviving are four half-brothers. Elmer Bookhardt of Springfield, Ferris and Marvin Bookhardt of Elloree, Roy Bookhardt of Charleston, and seven grandchildren.
