Webie's last name was originally Van Der Flugt... was Van der Vlugt/Van der Flught as late as the 1915 census and his children anglicized their name to be spelled Vanderflute.

Webie Van der Flught and Sada Sejtske VanderMeulen were married on May 9, 1862 in the Netherlands.

WEBIE VANDERFLUTE - Obituary
Webie W. Vanderflute was born in Crathen, (Province Friesland) Holland, January 13, 1841, and passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. DeVries on September 26, 1918, at the age of 77 years, 8 months, and 13 days. The duration of his illness was one week and he suffered very much during that time.
Mr. Vanderflute was married to Sadie J. Vandermullen, May 9, 1862. She passed away September 2, 1901.
To this union nine children were born, five daughters and four sons of which the following survive: John, Mrs. Ella DeVries, Webie Jr., Mrs. Maggie Goodwin, Flora Woods, Isaac, Hattie Davenport, and William, one daughter having gone before.
He also leaves to mourn his loss three brothers and one sister. Namely: I. Vanderflute, Chariton, Iowa; Henry Vanderflute of Tacoma, Washington; John Vanderflute of Province Friesland, Holland, and Flora Eelkame of Province Fries-land, Holland.
Mr. Vanderflute and companion came to America in 1873, settling first in Salt Lake City, Utah, only living there a short time, then moving to Otley, Marion County, Iowa, They came to Lamoni in 1882 and he has ever since resided here, making a visit to Holland in 1914.
He accepted Christian faith many years ago, though disappointed in his early Christian life, he has always believed in the true principles of the gospel.
Mr. Vanderflute was a very industrious worker and worked up to within a few days of his death. He was well known throughout the country and neighborhood.
Funeral September 27 at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Ella DeVries. Sermon by Elder John Smith, assisted by Elder A. L. Keen, burial at Rose Hill, Lamoni.
